TAL involved with refurb of
iconic Joburg building
 

TAL has supplied adhesives for the installation of 6 000 m² of mosaics to refurbish the iconic Innes Chambers office building in Johannesburg.

The restoration involved modernising the interior, with minimal changes to the historic outer shell. In order to stay true to the heritage of the building, the architectural firm involved in the project specified beige-coloured glazed stoneware mosaics for the prominent Y-columns.

TAL supplied Goldstar 12, and TAL Bond for the installation of the glazed stoneware mosaics to the exterior façade.

It also supplied adhesives for the installation of 3 000 m² of tiles to the walls and floors of the lobbies, bathrooms and lifts shaft walls.

Katherine & west
 

TAL supplied adhesives and ancillary products for the installation of
10 000m² of porcelain tiles at Katherine & West, an office development
on the corner of Katherine and West Streets in the Sandton Gate precinct.

The eight storey triangular building, designed by LYT Architecture
and developed by Barrow Properties, consists of approximately 19 000m²
of sectional title office space and seven luxury penthouse apartments. 

TAL supplied TAL Goldstar 6, a rapid-setting tile adhesive and TAL Bond,
a latex additive for the installation of tiles to the exterior facade, interior
lobby, lift shaft walls, reception area and bathrooms.

TAL supplies adhesives for
Checkers Hyper in Menlyn

More than 9 000 m ² of floor and wall tiling was successfully completed at Checkers Hyper in Menlyn using specialist tile adhesives and ancillary products from TAL.

By adhering to the TAL specification and maintaining a high standard of workmanship, contractor HL Pardal & Son also ensured that this project met the requirements for the TAL ten-year warranty.

Rapid-setting TAL Goldstar 6 was used for porcelain floor tiles. Quick-setting TAL Goldstar 12 was used for porcelain and sandstone wall tiles, while TAL Professional was used for ceramic wall tiles. TAL Quarry Grout was used for the general floor areas.

TAL supplies adhesives for
Virgin Active installation

Leading tile and construction adhesive specialist TAL recently supplied tile adhesives and ancillary products to install wall and floor tiles at Waterfall Estate’s Virgin Active.

Products used ranged from TAL Keycoat (primer for power-floated or steel-floated surfaces), to TAL Professional (ceramic wall tiling in ‘dry’ areas), TAL Goldstar 12 (porcelain tiling in ‘dry’ areas), Dove Grey TAL Wall & Floor Grout (‘general’ areas), TAL Industrial Fine Epoxy Grout (‘wet’ and critical areas) and TAL Bond.

TAL Goldflex flexible water-resistant and rapid-setting adhesive was used as a waterproofing compound in the ‘wet’ areas, i.e. steamroom, sauna and showers. Grouting to the ‘wet’ areas was undertaken using TAL Industrial Fine Epoxy Grout.
